WHO will host the first global Tuberculosis Vaccine Accelerator Forum from 27-28 April 2026. The Forum will bring together global, regional and country-level health leaders, stakeholders, funders, representatives of TB Vaccine Accelerator working groups and other vaccine development partners to review progress made, from product development through to implementation preparedness for novel TB vaccines for adults and adolescents.
The technical summit will revisit the public health need for and potential impact of this new class of TB vaccines, provide updates on the timelines and expectations of the most advanced candidates in the pipeline, discuss potential pathways from development through vaccine policy, access and accelerated uptake. In addition to providing an overview of the TB Vaccine Accelerator’s activities and actions since it was launched in January 2023, the meeting will highlight some complementary, partner-led initiatives.
A series of presentations, panel discussions and Q&A sessions with participants will seek to identify remaining priority research gaps and opportunities for collaboration and further acceleration.
Participation is by invitation only.
Follow-on meetings
On 29 April, following the Forum, the three TB Vaccine Accelerator working groups will each meet to reflect on Forum findings and determine any next steps or adjustments related to work plans or priorities.
High-level outcomes of the Forum will be presented and further discussed at the annual convening of the TB Vaccine Accelerator Council on 19 May 2026 on the sidelines of the World Health Assembly 2026.
